About Kodaikanal
Kodaikanal (affectionately called "Kodai") is a hill station in the Palani Hills of Tamil Nadu, sitting at 2,133 meters above sea level. Known as the "Princess of Hill Stations," it is famous for its star-shaped man-made lake, breathtaking shola forests, dramatic cliffs and unique Kurinji flowers that bloom only once every 12 years.
The town has a distinct character compared to other hill stations — quieter, more mystical and surrounded by some of the most dramatic scenery in South India. On clear days, the view from the Pillar Rocks stretches across the plains of Tamil Nadu far below.

Kodaikanal is best visited from October to March for clear skies. April–June is also pleasant. Avoid December–January if you dislike cold temperatures (drops to 5°C).
