About Tirupati
The Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, located in the Tirumala hills of Andhra Pradesh, is one of the most visited religious sites in the world. Dedicated to Lord Venkateswara (also called Balaji or Srinivasa), the temple receives around 60,000β100,000 pilgrims every single day, making it the world's busiest pilgrimage destination.
The temple is perched at 853 meters (2,799 feet) above sea level in the Tirumala Hills, part of the Eastern Ghats. The journey to the temple itself is considered sacred, and millions take the 11 km walking trail (known as Padala Mandapam) on foot as part of their devotion.
