Night Departure – Arrive Wayanad
Evening pickup from Chennai/Bangalore. Overnight journey. Arrive Wayanad early morning. Check-in to jungle camp/resort. Freshen up and have breakfast. Morning activities: Edakkal Caves exploration — prehistoric rock engravings 5,000+ years old (accessible by a 1.5 km trek). Afternoon: Bamboo rafting through the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary — one of the most unique experiences in Kerala! Spot birds, crocodiles and lush riverine forests. Evening: Bonfire at the jungle camp. Group dinner. Night stay.
Banasura Dam, Chembra Lake & Wildlife
Early morning: Optional bird watching walk around the camp (excellent for bird photography). Breakfast. Forenoon: Visit Banasura Sagar Dam — India's largest earth dam, surrounded by spectacularly green hills with multiple small islands in the reservoir. Boating available. Afternoon: Trek to the Heart-Shaped Lake near Chembra Peak (approx 3 km easy-to-moderate trek). This lake never dries up and is a popular Wayanad attraction. Evening: Visit Pookode Lake for a peaceful row boat ride through the freshwater lake. Sunset views. Return to camp. Dinner. Overnight stay.
Wildlife Safari & Departure
Morning: Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary jeep safari — spot Indian elephants, spotted deer, Indian bison (gaur), wild boar and numerous bird species. Breakfast. Late morning: Visit Soochipara (Sentinel Rock) Waterfalls — a stunning three-tiered waterfall in the forest (swimming allowed below). Afternoon: Check-out. Lunch on the way. Begin return journey. Evening/Night: Arrive home city. Trip complete!

Yes, it is conducted with life jackets and experienced local rafters. The current is gentle and the experience is safe for all ages including non-swimmers.
The Chembra Lake trek is about 3 km one-way and is easy-to-moderate. It takes about 1.5 hours. Anyone with basic fitness can do it.
Wayanad is pleasant throughout the year. Best season is October–May. Monsoon (June–September) brings heavy rain but the forest is stunningly beautiful.
